CHANGING PLACES
What is it?
Changing places are secure, accessible toilets available for a person with a disability who needs assistance and space using a bathroom in public spaces.
These accessible toilet include hoists, adults change table, automatic door and enough space for two people assisting a person.

MLAK keys
Some changing places are only accessible with an MLAK key. Anyone with special needs or their carer are eligible to apply for an MLAK key.

Portable Changing Places
Numerous places do not have access to a near-by Changing Places facilities that can be a barrier to attending events such as festivals or visit locations. Portable accredited Changing Places facilities can be hired and transported to locations on a short-term basis.

Designed by and for families, the Participate app shares information and accessibility ratings on Perth parks, playgrounds, sporting and community facilities.
Participate is includes search features and filter options to assist in finding the most suitable place for your needs, and enables users to save favourites and recommend parks to others.

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITIES
What is it?
Disability Services is now a part of the Department of Communities working in partnership with service providers and other government departments they provide information, supports and services to people with disabilities, their families and carers. This is formally done through the Local Coordination Program. If you aren’t eligible for NDIS the Local Coordinators are based throughout the state and help people to advocate, plan, organise and access the support and services they need to live a good life.
