INCONTINENCE PADS SCHEME (UNDER 16 YEARS)
What is it?
The Western Australian Incontinence Pad Scheme (IPS) is a product subsidy scheme specifically for children to assist with meeting the costs of continence products. It is administered by Independence Australia and funded by the Disability Services Commission.
A product subsidy of up to $490 per year is available to assist families.
Children can access the Incontinence Pad Scheme and the Commonwealth Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS) simultaneously.
Are you eligible?
You are eligible if:
You are between 3 and 15 years of age with a disability, and
Have continence issues related to the disability, and
You are an Australian citizen and holder of a permanent visa or special category visa subclass 444 (for New Zealand citizens) a permanent resident of Western Australia, and
You are a member of a family in receipt of a Carer Allowance.

CONTINENCE MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT SCHEME (OVER 16 YEARS)
What is it?
A continence management and advice service at clinics through Western Australia delivered by Silver Chain. Specialist nurses provide assessment and advice on how to best manage and improve your bladder or bowel condition. If continence products are required, Silver Chain can assist with accessing a subsidy of up to $490 per year through Independence Australia.
Are you eligible?
You are eligible if:
You are 16 years of age or older , and
Have a defined chronic or intractable continence condition (lasting for six months or more), and
Hold a Pensioner Concession Card or a Health Care Card, and
Are a permanent resident of Western Australia, and
Are not in receipt of a Commonwealth Home Care Packages at Home (Level 1 to 4), or living in a Commonwealth funded high level residential care home.
You can access the Continence Management and Support Scheme and the Commonwealth Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS) simultaneously.
How do you apply?
To access the product subsidy, individuals must be assessed as eligible by the Continence Management and Advice Service. To make an appointment with a specialist continence nurse, contact Silver Chain on 1300 787 055.

COMMONWEALTH CONTINENCE AIDS PAYMENT SCHEME (CAPS)
What is it?
An Australian Government Scheme that provides a payment to eligible people to help meet some of the costs associated with continence and continence related products if you have permanent and severe incontinence.
Are you eligible?
You are eligible if:
You have permanent and severe incontinence, and
You are 5 years of age or older.
